This is the second painting in my Lake Michigan Ice Break-Up series. It was awarded Best of Show in the 2018 Michigan Watercolor Society exhibition.
Before the exhibition, a fellow artist saw the painting during a preview of all the entries. Moved by its imagery, she reached out to me, saying it “spoke to her.” She purchased the piece before the exhibition even began—only to later learn that it had won Best of Show.
